Hello fellow members of MAPS! I hope your business and personal life have been keeping well so far.

I am sure 2008 had been a memorable year for every one of us in various ways. For me, I am pleased to see that the growth of MAPS that I had hoped and planned for has begun. I am confident that the growth momentum will sustain especially given the team work that is clearly evident.

My aspirations for MAPS as I assumed office as Acting President is to be brave in making decisions and be single-minded in our efforts to raise MAPS to a new unprecedented level. Lofty ambition it may sound but I have absolute faith in the capability and ability of the current EXCO line-up as well as the combined commitment of our members. Hold your breath…….. things are already happening.

I am especially pleased to see the turnaround of Maps@Work. The attendance has been impressive and most encouraging. Thanks to MAPS@Work subcommittee headed by Poh Yew. We are also appreciative of the support of The Otomotif College (TOC) for offering their college for our venue.

With the level of commitment from the new line-up of EXCO Members we can only expect the most impressive performance for the executive term of 2008-2010.

In line with MAPS tradition of the past years, we greet the year with our annual convention. It is MAPS’s first major activity of any year. Traditionally, we hold it around March/April. Due to external factors beyond our control, we have to make a brave decision to move the date of our MNC 2009 to May 14th and 15th. Despite the unavoidable time constraint, things are moving fast. We have good response from corporate resellers and the individual sales efforts by our EXCO and MNC members. I have no doubt that the Organizing Committee will pull off a memorable event. Thanks to MAPS National Convention Organising Committee headed by Immediate Past President Dato’ Sheilkh Omar Abdul Rahman.
